#1583 Affiliate Programs in Soholaunch?

Posted by SoundWeb on 16 February 2005 - 07:22 AM in Custom code and graphics help

Hi folks,
I have a client that's interested in marketing her products via the Soholaunch product and shopping cart module. She plans to institute an affiliate program and would like to track sales sent to her from her registered affiliates. A couple of questions...
1. Has anyone integrated an outside affiliate tracking system into Soholaunch?
2. If we assign an affiliate an id that is part of the referring url, will it follow the surfer through the site and sales transaction for capture at the end?
3. Any other ideas for affiiate tracking in the sales process using Soholaunch?

Thanks in advance for your ideas!

#1582 Linked files dissappear in shopping cart

Posted by SoundWeb on 16 February 2005 - 06:20 AM in How do I do this?

Kelly if you're using a standard template that you've modified at all, you might want to look at the custom.css and index.html files in both the YourSiteName.com/template folder and the YourSiteName.com/sohoadmin/program/modules/site_templates/pages/YourSelectedTemplate folder (the built-in template folder). They should be exactly the same. If you make any changes to one and not the other, you may have problems as the main pages and the shopping cart appear to use them differently.
If you've uploaded a custom template, the YourSiteName.com/tCustom folder is used instead of the standard template folder.
If this doesn't help, I'm sure that someone much smarter than me will answer.

#1581 Sales Tax?

Posted by SoundWeb on 16 February 2005 - 05:08 AM in How do I do this?

I have found this problem when I have enabled my shopping cart for sales in both US States + Canadian Provinces. I put in a ticket serveral months ago, but doesn't appear to be fixed yet. I guess I'll go ahead and add it to 'bugz'.

Here's the fix...
You have to edit this file:
Around line 443 (depending on your version) you will find a 'for' loop. Change the $x<=51 part of the line to $x<=64. This will take into account the Canadian Provinces. There's probably some variable in the code that contains the count of the states and provinces (since you can customize this area), but I didn't have a chance to look for it.

Hope this helps,

#931 Shopping Cart Tweak

Posted by SoundWeb on 17 November 2004 - 10:29 PM in Custom code and graphics help

For Example, I can setup a Donate Now sku. It can then ask them to enter the donation amount. That will be added to the shopping cart. They can then continue to order supplies or services or checkout from their like normal. Is this possible?

It's not elegant... But you could set up a $1 sku and they could fill in the number of $1 that they want to donate in the quantity field. It would probably require a little explaining on the site. It would only allow whole $ amounts though.

#880 File Manager Rename Question

Posted by SoundWeb on 15 November 2004 - 09:33 PM in How do I do this?

I did a little renaming of some .jpg files using the 4.7 File Manager to try to simplify the naming scheme on a site. I guess that I had assumed that it would also change any links to those renamed pictures in current pages, but it didn't. Is this the way it is supposed to work? If not, please consider this an enhancement request. Thanks. Steve.

#864 Automatic Link to Paypal doesn't work

Posted by SoundWeb on 15 November 2004 - 07:59 PM in How do I do this?

I copied it both places and still it never transfers to PayPal unless I click the button.

Try this, Upload this file to your /shopping directory in the docroot, and to the /sohoadmin/client_files/shopping_cart folder.

#856 Automatic Link to Paypal doesn't work

Posted by SoundWeb on 15 November 2004 - 07:05 PM in How do I do this?

Hi Cameron - The only difference between the two is that I uncommented the 'sandbox' link and commented the production PayPal link to test it. Could this cause this problem? It was happening before I made the change. Thanks!

It looks like your pgm-payment_gateway.php file in your shopping folder is not the same as the pgm-payment_gateway.php file in the module.

To fix this:
Log into your sites docroot via ftp. Go into /sohoadmin/client_files/shopping_cart/ and down load pgm-payment_gateway.php and upload it to the /shopping folder in your docroot.

#835 Automatic Link to Paypal doesn't work

Posted by SoundWeb on 15 November 2004 - 02:58 AM in How do I do this?

I have an issue with my site at: www.pacrimcreations.com. When using the PayPal link to pay for an order, the screen comes up with the message that you're being sent to the PayPal secure server, but never goes there. If you click on the button, it goes on to PayPal correctly. I would like for it to do this automatically like the screen says it will. You can go to www.pacrimcreations.com/shopping to try it out. I have set PayPal to go to the 'sandbox' currently, but it doesn't work correctly either way.
