Hello,

I'm trying to Import/restore my website after changing web hosting services.   My old site was created using Soholauncher Pro and my new service is using Soholaunch Ultra.  I tried to import the backup file xxxx.tar.gz but the upload times out after a couple of minutes.  After converting the backup to a .zip file I get the following error:

The following file may not be a valid backup file:

/home/yyyy/public_html/sohoadmin/program/webmaster/backups/import.txt

What am I doing wrong?   Is there away around this by using the Cpanel file manager and copying over the unzipped folders of the existing site into the corresponding folders for my new site?

Thanks for your help.

Depending on your new host they should be able to do this for you.

As you will need a conversion file to convert the soho pro to ultra.

Generally you would install the pro and do a restore using the old soho pro

backup file.

Then run the pro to ultra conversion file.

I offer this free with my hosting.

Let me know if you/they need help or if your looking for a better host.

Dresswell,

Thanks for the help.   I have a back-up

Any idea where I can find the pro to ultra conversion program?

I also tried the site transfer function of the webmaster tools in Pro and all I get is a one line file, site_transfer.phps,  that says "<script language="javascript"> location.href = "movesite-main.php?success=yes"; </script>.   When I attempt to use the Site Transfer in Ultra, I get an error message saying the back-up file is incorrect.  Any hints as to why?

Thanks,

Pete

Yes your backup file is for the pro not the ultra.

Will not work that way.

If you want to private message me your url and cpanel login i will do it for you

when i get the chance to do it as i am a bit busy at this time.

You will also need to upload your backup file you have to your new cpanel and let me know the file name.

Dresswell,

Thanks for your help, but I finally got things straightened out and the support at Soho made the transfer work in 5 minutes.

Thanks again,

Pete
