Zero Value invoices

Hi,

In my shopping cart invoice log I have several invoices with a zero value listed between actual purchases?

For example, I have just had a purchase on my shopping cart and have 6 zero invoices logged since my last sale, the payment method is credit card, the status is 'sent' and the value column just shows $ , why is this happening? any idea's?

Update to the latest soho build and see if that don't fix your problem.
If not let us know or private message me your url and soho login
and i will take a look at your setup.

OK I have updaated to the latest version and this has removed the zero value invoices but have large gaps in invoice numbers.
I will have to see what happens when i get further purchases.

I was just worried that it was some sort of hacking attempt or something similar?

OK, I have let this run for a while with the latest version instlled.

Even though the zero value invoices are not being displayed they are still there as I had a purchase yesterday and the invoice number was 54 more than the previous sale! This will cause a problem with my accounts as it looks as if i am "loosing" invoices that should be there.
I have also stopped receiving notification emails of purchases on the website so have to keep checking in to see what is going on.
So in summary, this is a backward step as far as i am concerned.
Can someone tell me why the zero value invoices are being generated please?

There was a bug in the
v4.9.4 r13 build
-Shopping Cart > View Orders/Invoices > Empty orders showing up in admin screen.
Update to the new build:
v4.9.4 r15

OK so where do do I download the R15 build?

The latest option I am being given to update to is the R13 build?


The only other option is the stable build v4.9.3 r53

If you go to your sohoadmin > Webmaster > Software Updates >
Technical diagnostic info (for Geeks) >
Allow installation of un-released internal testing builds?
Change that to yes.
The very latest soho builds will show during a check for soho updates.
Note: Some of these updates are "internal testing" builds.
The v4.9.4 r13 should fix your issues.

Hi, seem to have the same problem of missing invoice numbers and am wondering if I am missing paypal card sales.

Not sure if it will help you technical guys, but found when looking at cart-invoice data table, missing invoice numbers show as credit card incomplete. (Paypal problem ?)

Many of the missing invoice numbers on the same date, show to the minute the same time so seem to be complete duplicates. Also not sure if this helps but the future 2 string is identical on these duplicated invoices, it is here: d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e but a different I.P. address is shown if it means anything to anyone.

I am useing version V4 9.4 R12 and would prefer not to upgrade if possible. Being from the uk changing the date order on invoices is a bit of a pain.

Did upgrading to R13 help ?

Upgrading to R13 did not fix the problem for me, it just stopped displaying the numerous invoice showing as zero $.
There are still gaps in the genuine invoice numbers.

The upgrade also created a second probllem, I now don't receive a notification email that a sale has taken place!

v4.9.4 r15 that Dresswell recommends does not exist on my Soholaunch?

I don't believe that the issue is fixed.

If this is happening in r13, then we need to look into this as a possible bug. I am letting the technicians know this is happening and will have an answer for you. It seems dresswell was recommending to upgrade to R13 and may have had a typo. R15 is not available to anyone. Upgrading to an internal testing build is not recommended as a fix for this issue yet.

Unless something has changed, being a UK user I need invoices and my invoice records in the UK date format Day Month Year. Upgrades revert my invoices to the US date order of Month Day Year so I have to modify the pgm-payment_gateway.php file after every update.

Unless something has changed since last updating.

Hi, Looking at my records I dont seem to have had any credit card payments through Paypal for a while.
Could the problem not be just missing invoice numbers, but PayPal rejecting credit card transactions?

The reason I have this concern is that a government department (so hardly an iffy card) recently tried to make a purchase from my site with their corporate cards (They tried 5 times) and their purchases were rejected. I spoke with them on the phone and walked them through checkout. What happened was that after entering their card details and security number, when they clicked submit, they were sent back to the page requesting card details.

Is this a paypal issue or a soholaunch bug ?

If someone from Soholaunch wish to try a credit card test purchase on my site; www. durhamcommunications (dot.co.uk) please feel free if will help. I will of course make a refund back to the card if the transaction goes through O.K.

Hi Dresswell, Sorry, Possibly I didnt make myself clear, I am not sure if it is the same in the US as in the UK, but when buyers reach the first page of Paypal, they are given the option of useing/ opening a Paypal account or paying by card (Says dont have a paypal account or similar). If this option is chosen, they are taken to another page where they need to fill in their card details and enter thier security number. This was the page I was reffering to which the customer could not get past.

Have taken on board your comments regarding ssi cert and will be removing the offline card option now, but am a bit suprised that Soholaunch allow this as a tick box option.

You should run a test yourself or ask someone you know to try it.

The option is there for people who want to collect credit card info and process it themselves.
But you should have a ssl cert. to safely use it.

You should run a test yourself or ask someone you know to try it.

Thanks again, ran a test with my card and everthing worked as it should.

Checked card-invoice data table and that showed O.K. with my info but had jumped three numbers which I assume was you testing (Random Letters). So will have to put it down to a duff card from the customer. Sorry about the incorrect information,but just goes to show even government departments can get things wrong when useing thier cards. (Or perhaps, they didnt print enough money to cover their bills last time round)

However still have invoice numbers missing but showing as credit card incomplete and duplicating in the card-invoice data table as per my previous post. They jumped 72 numbers last week. This doesnt cause me a problem, but may be an issue if the revenue wish to know why my invoices dont tally.Hopefully pointing them to this topic should keep them happy.

Is this numbering issue just affecting a few users, or is it a global problem for all users of Paypal on Soholaunch sites?

Hey guys, quick heads up re: this issue. We've had a few of our customers running into this issue, and what is happening is search engine crawlers are hitting the shopping/pgm-*.php file that generates the invoice number etc and it's it to that database(can't remember the exact file off the top of my head, or even it's exact location at the moment sorry :yikes: ).

As there is no cart/customer info etc passed through to the file, it just generates the blank transactions.

A bandaid solution for this is add a disallow on the /shopping/ directory in the sites robots.txt file, this will stop most crawlers from hitting that file, although not all crawlers adhere to this.
