Recovering Your Sohoadmin Username and Password from cPanel

Before you begin: You need your cPanel username and password. This is the login information you would enter at http://example.com/cpanel.

Your sohoadmin login information is stored in a database table in phpMyAdmin (a program used to view your database). Databases may sound complicated, but you don't have to know anything about them to get your Sohoadmin login info. phpMyAdmin shows the information inside the table nicely right on your screen. The following are the steps for finding your Sohoadmin username and password in cPanel.

Step 1: Open phpMyAdmin in cPanel

  • Login to cPanel by going to example.com/cpanel , where example.com is your website address that has Soholaunch installed on it.
  • Enter your cPanel username and password.
  • Once inside cPanel, scroll to the Databases section and click “phpMyAdmin.”
  • You should see a column along the left see with links. These are the database tables for your site.

Step 2: Find the table with the Sohoadmin username and password

  • It is a little tricky to say which database table in the left column has the login information because the names of the tables are different across sites, but you will know when you have found the right one. When you click the right table, it will pull up a lot of Soholaunch-related information listed in table rows. Just to offer some suggestions, it is usually not information_schema. The correct table may have “sope” or “soho” in the name, but that is not always the case. It may take a little trial and error of clicking through a few tables and going back.
  • When you click the right table, you will see a row called “login.” (This will be included among other rows with Soholaunch-related names so you have to look.)
  • The word “login” should be hyperlinked. Click that.
  • This will pull up a row that will have your Soholaunch username and password in it.
  • Make a note of the username and password and use them to login to sohoadmin (yourdomain.com/sohoadmin)

There, hopefully that wasn't too bad, and you can get back to creating the best site on the web!
