Hello,
I've created a replacement header image and custom pageslice files for the Music02 template by renaming the pageslicex.jpg filenames with the recommended "_userimg-" prefix in the home.html file located in the

/sohoadmin/program/modules/site_templates/pages/MUSIC02-extras-orange/

folder. Then used SohoAdmin's Template Manager to swap out the image files accordingly.

This works fine, however, the image change only work on the home page. Is there an easy way to get the new header image (new pageslices) to apply across all main menu pages?

Thanks,

Jack

Do the same procedure with the "index.html" file.

"home.html" is for home page only, while "index.html" is the default for all other pages.

There is also the optional "cart.html" for shopping cart application, and "news.html" for soho blog pages.

LW,
Great! The new header images applies across all the main menu pages by editing the index.html file (and swapping out the default images using the Template Manager), just as you instructed. That saved me a lot of time, thanks!

But one side-affect of this change is the vertical main menu text which, by default, is left-aligned is now center-aligned across all pages. And the font changed on the latest news text. You can see what I mean at the following website work in progress:

Any suggestions, ideas?

It is left-aligned on Firefox...

Anyway, try to locate the following block of code in both home.html and index.html:
<td valign="top" align="left" width="135" bgcolor="#cc6733" height="1">
<div align="center">
<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="135" border="0">

<tbody>
<tr>
<td height="10"><img height="1" alt="" width="1" border="0" src="blank.gif" /></td></tr>
<tr>
<td>#VMENU#</td></tr>
<tr>
<td height="10"><img height="1" alt="" width="1" border="0" src="blank.gif" /></td></tr>
<tr>
<td>
<p class="boxcontent2">#BOX1#</p></td></tr></tbody></table></div></td>
Change the second line to:
<div align="left">

Thanks Leh-Wen, that worked.

I don't understand how the text was left-aligned in the first place if this parameter was set to div align="center" in the first place...(not expecting an answer here, just blowing off some steam)

Here you basically have two conflicting directives: one from <div> and the other from <td> above it. Sloopy codes tend to bring out differences in browsers.

Hi Lwyau,

I have created a website (very beginning stages) using Template 'Family 2 Extras Green' and went to swap the 5 images of the template images for images of my own. I looked in Template Manager(and then Template Features which has Swappable Template Images) and it only allows 1 template image to be swapped out of the 6 template images. I choose this template because it has 5 images above the menu bar. Is there a way of changing this?
I am hosting with HostPapa and Soholaunch Pro Edition is included with my hosting and have looked at all tutorials on Soho - please help. HostPapa said it is possible and thinks .css. I have no idea what this is and how it works.

Please help.

Unfortunately these are "image slices". You have to see how they are laid out and replace them with precise slices from your own image. Place your mouse over the image and right-click and select "view image" (or something similar depending on your browser) and you'll see what I mean.

If you think you are up to it, go to sohoadmin/program/modules/site_template/pages/FAMILY2-extras-green/ folder. You will find image files named like pageslicex.gif (where x is a number). Replace them with your own "slices".

So, how do I even get to the sohoadmin/program/modules/site_template/pages/FAMILY2-extras-green/ folder?? My template isn't FAMILY2-extras-green , but is something else, but I still don't know how to get to edit the html's of the template. I have a vertical menu, that has these little images that are in the way of the text, and I want to remove them.

The template I'm running is Phase2 Orange.
